UMEBOSHI with SHISO
Shiso leaves reinforce the effect of umeboshi if they accompany it, in addition to providing benefits on their own.
Shiso leaves are a wild plant, also known as perilla leaves, native to southern China. Since the 17th century, they have been collected for use as food. There are two types of leaf: the red shiso and the green shiso. MIMASA only uses red shiso, which is actually originally more of a dark purple color. This pigment changes to red when it comes in contact with acid or air, so the acidity of umeboshi plums changes their original color to red.
